Who's Next in Line?

Who’s Next in Line?

Where can you get a hotdog for sixty cents? At Sullivan's! Located on Castle Island in South Boston, this take-out restaurant is famous for their hotdogs. They are a family owned business who have been in operation since 1951. It is a seasonal restaurant open from the last weekend in February to the last weekend in November.

This is a fast-paced restaurant whose line goes out the door, but moves right along. More often than not people are standing shoulder to shoulder waiting for their orders. When you walk in you’re met with a long horizontal counter. You walk up to the counter where you place your order and get a number. Once you get your number you step aside to wait in the common standing room only area. There you will find the napkins and condiments.

The food is really good. The Kayem hot dogs are grilled and the crinkle-cut French fries, as well as the other fried food, are fried in soy oil. The prices are quite reasonable with hot dogs costing .60 during opening weekend and closing weekend. The regular price is $1.60. Their huge lobster rolls are $9.95 while a clam box ranges from $6.25 for the strips and $11.95 for the bellies. I prefer the whole clam myself. You can get the fish and chips for $4.10 and a cheeseburger is $2.00. Ice cream is a good meal ender for $2.80.

Breakfast is served from 8:30AM to 10:30AM. Egg and cheese on an English muffin costs $2.10, and among other items, French toast sticks for $2.75.

Make sure to take home a souvenir. T-shirts are $15.50 and sweatshirts are $26.50. You can also get baseball caps at $13.50, and gift cards for the gift giver.
